Academic Bowl After School at Vallivue Middle School!

Puma Intelligencia will be having its first quiz bowl meet today at Vallivue Middle School against seven other teams. If you are part of the team and haven't yet picked up your shirt from Mrs. Demshar, make sure to see her today in room 105. Teams should meet in the cafeteria right after school.

Mrs. Green would like to remind her SWIMS Honor Orchestra students of their practice after school today, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-4 pm.
Please make these after school practices a priority so you can learn your music and be prepared for the first SWIMS rehearsal on Friday from 5-7 at South Middle School.

Geography Bee Held! JMS Winners Announced!!

This year's top two finishers for Jefferson Middle School are Jacob Ericksen and Nerio Marroquin who went the distance against a highly qualified field of finalists. Rounding out the top three, was 6th grader, Mason Strong. This year's finalists were each champions of their respective advisory groups prior to coming together for the championship round. Congratulations to all of our participants on their fantastic academic efforts!

Jefferson Wrestlers Take Down Opponents for District Title!!

The wrestling season ended on an extremely high note for the JMS Cougars when the district final standings were announced following the wrestling championship event held this weekend at Rivervue High School. The Cougars went into the meet with high expectations, having put together a near perfect season, but knew they had to prove themselves again on the mat in order to win the title. Feelings of anticipation quickly gave way to exhilaration when it was announced that the Cougars finished first in team standings, bringing the district championship title home to Jefferson Middle School! We are so proud of our student-athletes and coaches for their outstanding efforts!

Cougars End Season With Great Effort on Court!

The final buzzer of the season sounded last night for the players on the 8th grade girls basketball team as they lost in a tough fight vs. the Emmett Huskies. According to Coach Kevin Sitts, the 6th seeded Cougars gave the number three team in the conference all they could handle during opening two quarters. "We played an amazing first half... I am very proud of the girls" he noted. The Cougars have come a long ways this season in developing their skills, as was shown in their ability to play a top team in the conference so aggressively. "They have improved a ton and I look forward to watching them in the future" added Sitts in his final comments about the season.
