Last Week of School Activities!

We have a lot planned during the last week of school! Finals followed by yearbook signing, a talent show, and 8th grade promotion! There are also some early release days to be aware of. It's going to be a week jam packed of activity as we finish this year strong!

Fall Sports Begin August 12th!

Sports practices for cross country, volleyball, and football will begin on August 12th. Plan now to attend tryouts! You have approximately 11 weeks from when school is out to prepare for the challenge of the upcoming sports seasons! Let's show our league what Caldwell can do!!

Free Summer Stem Camps for incoming 7th and 8th Graders!

This summer there will be a FREE two-week STEM on the MoveCamp at Boise State's Summer Academy! Through a grant from the ITD, this all-day camp is FREE to children from Canyon County entering grades 7 and 8.
Registration is open and is first-come, first-serve (25 children per week), and students can join for either or both weeks (June 17-20 & June 24-27). A free bus to and from selected schools in Caldwell and Nampa will be available, plus lunch and other perks. It will be a week featuring an amazing line-up of fun, enrichment-style lessons taught by certified classroom teachers in collaboration with research scientists and college students. Attention Parents!

Please remember to pick up medications, Epi-pens, inhalers, prescriptions and over the counter medications from the nurse’s office, before May 31 st. Date Changes to Free Middle School Football Camp!

Attention all 6th and 7th graders interested in playing football next fall. There is a FREE football camp put on for the Caldwell Middle Schools by the Caldwell High School Football coaches and players from May 22nd through the 23rd right after school. On Wednesday, camp will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. On Thursday, camp will be held from 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Camp for incoming 7th graders will be held at Syringa and those in 8th grade next fall will workout at Jefferson. Bring work-out clothes and cleats and join us for a great camp!

JMS Student Honored!

This week Jaymee Dale, a mentor with The Mentoring Network, and Wendy from the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline came to JMS to honor Jastella Baker. Jastella and Ms. Dale have been making stuffed bears aimed at preventing youth suicide. They have sewn the Idaho Suicide Prevention hotline number into its collar and created a pouch with essential oils hidden inside. JMS is so proud of you Jastella! Keep up the good work!

Jefferson Receives Highly Sought After VR4ED Coding Grant!

Students are Jefferson Middle School next fall will have the opportunity to experience virtual reality coding thanks to a grant recently awarded to the school from the Idaho STEM Action Center. The purpose of the grant is to teach students coding skills with the purpose of creating 3-D worlds using the Blocksmith VR platform. Library Holds Battle of the Books Competition!

Last Friday the library held their version of the IBOB (ID Battle of the Books) reading contest.
Reading for the contest began in September and has continued all year, allowing the contestants to study
