Representatives from Mt. Moriah Lodge #39 in Caldwell were special guests at the end of the year assembly on May 23rd at JMS. They presented six lucky students with brand new, still in the box Kindles, complete with screen protectors, cases, and Amazon gift cards. The six students, were chosen from a random drawing based on entries received in the library as part of a school wide reading incentive. To see the list of winners, click the link! School photos will be taken of all students today for student ID cards and the yearbook in the JMS library. You have the option to order copies. If you would like to order, fill out the picture packet and return it with your student.
Don't forget that Wednesdays are early release days throughout the district for students. Teachers will participate in collaboration every Wednesday after students are dismissed for the day. All fall sport athletes please report to the gym after school.
Students are Jefferson Middle School next fall will have the opportunity to experience virtual reality coding thanks to a grant recently awarded to the school from the Idaho STEM Action Center. The purpose of the grant is to teach students coding skills with the purpose of creating 3-D worlds using the Blocksmith VR platform. Practices for all sports (football, cross country, and volleyball) start at 3:30 p.m. on August 12th. Cross country practice will be held at Jefferson. 7th grade volleyball and football will be held at Syringa, while the 8th grade volleyball and football players will tryout at Jefferson. Additionally, football gear checkout will be held on Saturday, August 10th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. 7th graders will checkout their gear at Syringa, and 8th graders will get their gear at Jefferson.
