JMS Students Earn Orchestra Honors!

Congratulations are in order for several JMS Orchestra students who were chosen to perform on Saturday as members of the 2018 SWIMS (Southwest Idaho Middle Schools) Honor Orchestra. The students are:

8th Grade Cougars Sweep Bulldogs!

Caldwell's A team won last night against Nampa West, improving their record to 5-4 on the year.
In B team action, it was a strong defensive effort and teamwork that earned the win last night over Nampa West. The Cougars were able to secure a double digit win by the score of 24-14. "Our Cougars played strong defense the entire game," according to Coach Lopez. Additionally, Lopez credited consistent effort from the team that sparked the Cougars to victory. "Every player contributed to the win," Lopez remarked.

Simply Unstoppable! 8C Basketball Wins Again!

The winning streak is now at 6. Caldwell's 8C Boys Basketball team defeated Sage Valley Wednesday by a score of 39-19. Once again, solid contributions from across the team's roster was too much for the opponents to handle. Teammates Adrian Verdugo and Jesus Ponce each had big games, throwing down 10 points and grabbing 7 rebounds a piece. Caden Robertson delivered 4 assists, and Cristian Gutierrez added 3. Kaden Scott, who consistently is aggressive on the boards, led the team with 8. Caldwell will put their winning streak on the line today when they travel to Vallivue. Good Luck Cougars!

Cougars Split With Lone Star in 8th Grade Basketball

The 8th grade boys took on Lone Star Tuesday in boys 8th grade basketball, and the Cougars nearly pulled off two wins. The B team took the Longhorns to overtime, before falling 25-29. In A team action, Caldwell jumped out to a double digit lead in the first quarter, and according to Coach Thomas, "we didn't look back."

8th Grade C Team Rolls Kuna to Stay Unbeaten!

The Caldwell 8C Boys Basketball team earned another lopsided win Tuesday by beating Kuna 42-8. With the win, the Cougars pushed their record to 5-0 on the season. Christian Gutierrez led the scoring effort with 10 points, and added 6 steals and 3 assists for the Cougars. Teammate Jesus Ponce scored 8 points, and was the team's top rebounder, with 9. On Thursday, the Cougars will put their perfect season on the line when they travel to Vallivue.

After School Tutoring

After school tutoring for the second semester has started on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. The activity bus will be available to provide transportation home for those who need a ride.

Cougars Unstoppable in 8th Grade Basketball Action!

After a slow start, the 8th grade A team got things going their way by passing the ball around more in the second half to secure a win at Nampa East last night.
In the early game, Caldwell's 8th Grade B team had little trouble with East Valley, upending them by a score of 35-20. "Our boys dominated the entire game and everyone contributed to the win," according to Coach Lopez. Great job Coug's!!

8A Cougars Outlast Emmett With Overtime Win!

The 8th grade A team won a hard fought overtime battle against Emmett last night. Jacob Martinez made a three with little time left in regulation to tie the game at 41. In overtime August and Jordan made two crucial baskets to shut the door on Emmett and put the Cougars on top 45 to 41 for the win.
