The Cougars led 14-0 at halftime as Alex Sauceda hit Braden Parham on 50 yard screen pass and Josh Martinez hit Braden on a 1 yard halfback pass on 4th and goal. Jose Campos hit the 2-point kick after the first touchdown. The Huskies cut the lead to 14-6 and were threatening late in the contest when Hunter Bidleman picked off a pass at the goal line and raced 100 yards with what would have been the deciding score, but it was called back due to an unnecessary block 10 yards behind the play. After a Cougar punt pinned the Huskies inside the five, Michael Pickens returned an interception 5 yards and Campos added the kick for the final points.
After giving up 34 points in the pre-season opener at Lone Star the Cougar defense only surrendered 30 points the rest of the season,
six points a game. We finished it boys, congrats! One Team One Dream...Dream Fulfilled!
The Cougars will play Kuna in the IVL Championship next Wednesday in Kuna.
