JMS TEAM TOPS COMPETITION TO FINISH FIRST!
Our JMS Academic Team competed in their fourth Academic Bowl competition of the year last night at Sage Valley. In the current events round we correctly answered 7 out of 10 questions, a season best.
In the topic round, team members Bailey Kingsford, Josie Yee, Liz Jones, Lila Kopke and Aurora King were perfect, correctly answering 6 out of 6 questions. An incredible job, but not surprising, having worked very hard for this result.
Going into the speed round JMS trailed the leader by only by 10 points. In the final round Jefferson buzzed in first on 16 of the 40 questions and answered 13 of the 16 correctly. JMS finished with 230 points, the most points scored by any team this season, and a first place finish!
Coach Saunders says he is very proud of the team's GRIT. He added, "You are inspiring and it is an honor to coach all of you!"
Mr. Saunders would also like to say "thank you to Yaslin Marroquin for stepping in for a teammate at the last minute and to Lesley Medina Robles for her incredible work ethic. Both of you are priceless additions to the team this year."

El Equipo Académico de JMS compitió en su cuarta competencia de Tazón Académico del año anoche en Sage Valley. En la ronda de eventos actuales, respondimos correctamente 7 de 10 preguntas, lo mejor de la temporada.
En la ronda de temas, los miembros del equipo Bailey Kingsford, Josie Yee, Liz Jones, Lila Kopke y Aurora King fueron perfectos y respondieron correctamente 6 de 6 preguntas. Un trabajo increíble, pero no sorprendente, habiendo trabajado muy duro para este resultado.
Al entrar en la ronda de velocidad, JMS estaba detrás del líder por solo 10 puntos. En la ronda final, Jefferson quedó primero en 16 de las 40 preguntas y respondió correctamente a 13 de las 16. ¡JMS terminó con 230 puntos, la mayor cantidad de puntos anotados por cualquier equipo esta temporada, y un primer lugar!
El entrenador Saunders dice que está muy orgulloso del GRIT del equipo. Agregó: "¡Ustedes son inspiradores y es un honor entrenarlos a todos!".
