7th Grade Boys Capture Third Place at Tournament!

Everyone dreams of situations like the one Jacob Martinez found himself in as time was running out in the third place game vs. Mountain Home. With only a couple of ticks left on the clock, and a tied score, he stood at the free throw line with the opportunity to tip the scales in favor of the JMS Cougars. The Cougars had fought back from a three point deficit with about a minute left in the game to reach this point. As expected, the noise from the crowd was deafening as Martinez stood at the line. With ice in his veins, Martinez focused on the rim and sent the ball up and through the net to give the Cougars their own version of March Madness and the win. Principal Moss Strong called the game "one of her top 5" in most exciting finishes and congratulated the team, noting how focused the team was down the stretch in fighting back and ultimately getting the win. Congratulations to the players and Coach Lopez on a great season.
