Athletic Results for Thursday Night

The 7th grade Volleyball played a hard fought battle against Middleton last night but ultimately fell to the lady Vikes in three sets. Davina and Emilee Edmonds led the team in scoring with Victoria, Nevaeh, and Lilly making key defensive plays. All the girls played well and are looking forward to moving past the first game jitters.
Yesterday afternoon your Caldwell Cougar 8th grade B team played in their home opener against a tough team from Middleton. If you missed it, you missed an exciting afternoon! The Cougars started off slow in the first game, but won the second game 26-24. It was intense! The third game was all about the Cougars, with Caldwell winning it 15-6. All of the girls served well, with very few missed serves. Outstanding serving by Fatima Zavala and Iris Guajardo led the way. Chavi Dionna dominated the middle. The hustle and heart of this team will make them successful this season. Come on out and watch us play in our next home game on September 11th against TVCS.
Our 8th volleyball season began last night with a game against Middleton. The B team came back from a first game loss to win the overall match in three games. The A team fought hard, but ended up losing a close one in two games. Both the A and B teams made some incredible plays and were able to work through their first game jitters. Keep tuned for what is to come from our 8th grade C teams!

Cross Country
The cross country team killed it at their first meet! Varsity girls took 1st place with Jocelyn Bautista coming in 1st, and Demi Thompson in 3rd place and Isabel Santillan in 4th place. In JV girls Cloey Medina came in third, and JV girls scored 2nd overall. Both boys teams came in third, with Jace Martinez as the top 6th grade boy in the varsity race. Awesome job to all of our runners! It's going to be a great season!
